# Kitten Academy

> Kittenswap Kitten Academy

The Kitten Academy is a rewards program designed to incentivize long-term token holding and community participation.

## Eligibility Requirements

To become eligible for Academy distributions, you must:

* Lock a minimum of **10,000 veKITTEN tokens**

## Distribution Mechanism

* **Frequency**: Every 2 weeks
* **Source**: Kitten Academy veKITTEN revenue used to obtain KITTEN tokens from the open market and [Incentive Allocation](/tokenomics/initial-distribution#incentive-allocation)
* **Process**: Purchased tokens are locked into veKITTEN NFTs for distribution
* **Allocation**: Distributions are proportional to your locked amount above the 10K minimum threshold

## How It Works

1. Lock at least 10,000 veKITTEN tokens
2. Wait for the bi-weekly distribution cycle
3. Receive your proportional share of the treasury-funded KITTEN token distribution
4. The more you lock above the minimum, the larger your distribution share

This mechanism ensures that committed community members who demonstrate long-term belief in Kittenswap are rewarded with additional ownership, creating a sustainable incentive structure.
